Springtime means time for softball here at Albert Gallatin, and this year’s softball team consists of 3 seniors: Amber Wallace, Alexis Metts, and Maelee Detrick. Senior Maelee is “excited” about this season and is “confident” that their team will perform well with their new coaching staff. She also explained that the returning seniors are “aiming to provide team leadership and set the example for good sportsmanship” for the underclassmen. Senior Amber Wallace feels that with it being her senior season, she knows it will be hard to say goodbye to her team and the sport. She also said that this team is a great group with a tight great bond so she is sure they will have a successful year! Senior Alexis Metts remarked that although the team is “young” they are going to try their best to be “competitive” this season. This year’s team is coached by Gary Serock (the attendance officer), Marissa Dugan (assistant principal of AGHS), Jon Chapman, and Makayla Munchinski. I had the chance to talk with Coach Serock and he said he is “excited to be coaching again” after he took some time off and is also excited about the “future of the program.” He is confident in his team’s numbers and continues to praise his “young team with many talented players.” The girls home field is located right here at the high school, so stop by this spring to catch your AGHS softball team in action!
