New Courses Available for the ‘23-’24 School Year

Course Selection for 2022 - 2023

Course Selection for 2022 – 2023

As the end of the school year approaches for students and staff, the task of course selection opens for freshman-juniors. This process will be done in your English class and administered with the help of the building’s guidance counselors. The only difference this year regarding this process is that AGHS will be offering new classes for the upcoming school year. I had the chance to speak with several teachers who gave me the rundown on the new courses that they would be teaching.

Mr. Stackhouse will be teaching a semester class entitled Diversity/Equality/Inclusion that will be available to juniors and seniors. This class will use a historical lens to explore the populations of the world and help the students understand how people are more alike than different.

Mr. Clark will be teaching a full-year class entitled PORTALS- Project Perennial which will be available to juniors and seniors.

Mr. Berkshire will be teaching a semester class entitled Introduction to Web Design which will be available to sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

Mrs. Mulac will be teaching a semester class entitled Biotechnology that will be available to juniors and seniors. The prerequisite for this course is that you must have an 80% average in biology to take this course.

Mrs. Saghy will be teaching a full year class entitled Applied Communications. This class will focus on developing and producing the AGHS yearbook.

Mr. Nuttall will be teaching a few new courses: Newspaper/Journalism, Introduction to Television, and Radio Broadcasting.

Mrs. Venturino will be teaching a semester class entitled Jewelry and Metals that is available for juniors and seniors.

Mrs. Messich will be teaching a full year class entitled AP Art. This class is available for all students but it is an AP weighted class and will have a large work-load so please contact Mrs. Messich for more information.
